What I’d learn today in my piano lesson

Music is about interpretation…

and sense of art…

Like a painting…

or nature…

and emotion…

All of them tell us stories…

in a unity…

No one is true or false…

it’s all about interpretation…

i ♥ music so much…

Working hard on February and March

February was a hard month. Too many works and assignment to do, especially in my college. I took food science as my subject. Honestly, I didn’t expect that it will be very hard at college. Every week I must make a report and it spend a lot of my time. Time for piano practice lessen than before. So I’d choose one piece for my major learning. This March I’ll have mid semester tests in my college. I’ll be very busy this month… T.T

This month my major piece for learning is:

  • Liszt Sonata in B minor (learning) – almost done 1st movement ^w^

And another pieces for learning are:

  • Mozart Sonata KV 3111 Allegro con spirito (learning)
  • Chopin Etude Op. 25 No. 9 (learning)

Hope June will coming soon! June and July are holiday, so I can learn piano intensively :)

Beethoven Pathetique Sonata 1st mov.

This sonata consist of Grave and Allegro sections. I’ll describe my interpretation about this sonata.

When I played the Grave section, I imagined I was walk on a snowy land. Cold and windy, it was hard to move. I looked around and finally I found a little house. I knock the door. An old woman opened it and brought me in. Ooh… it was so warm inside. She gave me a cup of hot chocolate and I sat in front of fireplace. I could hear the wind outside, I felt so tired and I was slept…

Then Allegro section begin. Storm was coming. It was a great hurricane! Lightning, thunder, wind, snow attacked the house… How horrible it was! And then, the storm had gone. I looked outside, the trees toppled every where. Branches and stones were spread around too. So sad!

But it didn’t take too long. The spring came and brought the river flows again. The flowers was blossom and trees was sprout. My spirit was growing till the climax.

And then Grave and Allegro section again (both of them modulated before the recapitulation at home key). I haven’t make a story for them. I’ll update my post soon :D

What I’m learning on Jan ’09

This month I’m working on:

  • Beethoven Pathetique Sonata complete (polishing). The most difficult is 1st movement… Just once I could play it powerful at home. I played a half part of 1st mov and I felt tired. I regret why I can’t play like that again. I need a great inspiration or motivation to repeat it.
  • Scarlatti Sonata in E Minor K. 263 (polishing). Sometimes I feel this piece is so sad when I played it. But the other time I played with another interpretation and it means different too. Whew, I wonder what interpretation should I play haha…
  • Scarlatti Sonata in E Major K. 264 (learning)
  • Liszt Sonata in B Minor (I’d promise to my teacher learn 3 pages every week)
  • Mozart Sonata KV 311 Allegro con spririto (learning). Mozart is wonderful!
